Hope that West Ham supporters could return to the London Stadium later this year were given a boost by a drastic drop in the local area infection rate. In figures released by Public Health England at the beginning of July, the London Borough of Newham which includes Stratford and the London Stadium dropped to 3.4 confirmed cases per 100,000 population.
