David Moyes appears to be managing expectations of the West Ham squad size insisting he would prefer to work with a smaller squad and bring young players from the Academy to cover. The manager, who has just returned from his self-isolation, told the club’s media team: “I’d rather work with a small squad than a big squad. It’s always easy to bring somebody out of the Academy when there are spaces, and I’ve always wanted to have a Club where those young boys feel there’s a chance to breakthrough.“ West Ham will need to file their squad of up top 25 players with the Premier League at 5 pm on 16th October when the domestic transfer window ends.
Premier League clubs are allowed up to twenty-five players which must include eight homegrown players if they are to use the full 25 man squad.
