Most players contracts run until the end of June meaning clubs are usually not keen to start paying for their new players until 1st July. That is the case for West Ham’s three new summer signings in Roberto, David Martin and Pablo Fornals who all officially become Hammers at the beginning of July.

Jordan Hugill’s agent is trying to find him a new club, but a return to Preston North End is ‘highly unlikely’, according to The Lancashire Evening Post, which cites PNE club sources. Hugill left Preston to sign for West Ham in a £9.2 million deal in January 2018 but he has failed to make a breakthrough to the first team.
