David Moyes has doubts that Shakhtar defender Mykola Matviyenko can adapt to the Premier League. Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg says Moyes spoke a little about the Shakhtar defender Matviyenko yesterday during the virtual press conference adding he had heard that West Ham think he’s a good player but has doubts over him adapting to the Premier League. Steinberg later clarified ‘This is why I don’t see West Ham making a big play for Matviyenko’ Earlier this week a report by Athletic journalist David Ornstein. claimed West Ham had already made a bid for Shakhtar Donetsk defender. Ornstein claimed that the Hammers have actually made a bid for the Ukraine international when speaking on the Athletic’s The Ornstein and Chapman podcast. It is possible that Matviyenko could be one of those backups on the manager’s target list.
In late August Claret and Hugh reported a 90min report that the 24-year-old could be a Hammers target.
