Jamie Jones made his long-awaited return from injury today as a Leyton Orient reserve side beat West Ham’s development squad 3-0 at the Hammers’ training ground.
Jones has missed the entire campaign so far after undergoing shoulder surgery last summer but kept a clean sheet for the O’s who ran out comfortable winners.
Hot on the heels of his goal at Carlisle on Saturday, Jamie Cureton netted twice for Orient, including one from the penalty spot, while Ben Chorley also struck from 12 yards.
Having come on as a late substitute at the weekend, Cureton played for 70 minutes in the friendly fixture, while Jones completed the entire match.
Also playing for the whole game were Chorley – who is currently serving a three-match suspension following his red card at Stevenage – and winger George Porter.
Dean Cox was given an hour as he continues to get minutes under his belt following a spell out with strained knee ligaments, while fellow first team players Mike Cestor and Moses Odubajo were also involved.
