Green expresses desire for premier league return

After being picked for Stuart Pearce’s first national squad, Green has expressed his desire to play in the premier league once again to boost his international ambitions.

Joe Hart beyond any doubt has secured his position as England number one, but Green admits that he’s as motivated as ever to secure his place as number two, however, Green also expresses how set and focused he is to win promotion for the hammers this season. “For me at West Ham, we have to get promoted. “It’s been different playing in the championship, and in some ways it’s been nice not getting a pounding every week. “But obviously it’s not the premier league and that’s where we aim to be.

Green has also praised Big Sam in what he has achieved at West Ham this season and what a positive impact he has made since being at the club. “It’s been good working under the manager and he’s turned around a pretty depressed place and got it going in the right direction. “The one thing he does is man-manage people and it’s been good so far under him.

It’s not where we want to be but if I spend my time worrying about that, I’ll be pretty old by the end of the season.” Greeno has had 10 impressive clean sheets this season, gaining another on Saturday against Crystal Palace after single-handedly denying them on several occasions. “I just carry on playing; it’s about keeping football down to the basics. “The pure element of trying to keep the ball out of the goal is something I focus on. “What affects my life is what happens on a Saturday and how well we do at West Ham. “That’s pretty much all I care about.”
