
Every so often Aston Villa threaten to develop into a competent side. Last week Christian Benteke’s brilliance had them 3-1 up at Everton but in the end their defensive failings meant they had to settle for a point. If they can sort out their problems at the back for the visit of West Ham, who have lost their previous four away matches, then they could have sufficient firepower to win in the league for the first time in two months. …
