The Premier League have taken out a high court order on live sports and live premier league streaming websites as many more are showing full matches that are currently unavailable to view if you live in the UK
The Premier League have gone after Firstrow sports this time as the website “reportedly makes millions” in ad revenue and is costing the Premier League millions in lost revenue.
The injunction came from the (FAPL) Football Association Premier League Ltd, that owns all copyright in broadcasting recordings of all Premier League football matches.
They have also requested that the 6 main UK internet service providers (ISPs) – British Sky Broadcasting, BT, Everything Everywhere, TalkTalk, Telefonica and Virgin Media, take responsible measures to try and block these sites to users who live within the UK, the injunction was also rushed through as the new premier league season kicks of in August and as such Firstrow sports will be unavailable to most.
To be honest if the Premier League and SkySports were to start showing 3pm kick off’s then they could make millions in extra TV revenue, it’s not as if we would stop going to the grounds on a Saturday afternoon as they keep saying, this has been SkySports argument for years but my honest opinion is, show all matches, even 3pm’s,
At the end of the day there will always be someone willing to add a SkySports stream or an ESPN stream so other footy fans can watch their favourite football team.
Give it a wile and he will have a sports channel dedicated to each individual sports costing us more and more !
Well done Rupert !
