A Reliable Striker Is All That West Ham Needs
Slaven Bilic took over West Ham in 2015 with high expectations and the means to fulfill them. The Croatian manager had a couple of great strikers at his disposal and looked ready to play the offensive cards. The Londoners made it to Europa League but their wings were clipped by the same unassuming squad from Romania. By the time their sights were once again locked on the Premier League, injuries brought them to their knees. The season is the worst in recent history, but the future looks promising.
Accepting the Truth About Carroll
Andy Carroll is by far the most prolific striker that West Ham has right now, after Payet left. However, he is also prone to injuries and has spent most of the time mending them. Slaven Bilic and the fans were hoping that he will be back on his feet soon, but and be played just 15 games this season. The fact that he managed to score 7 goals is remarkable to say the least, but the team needs more than this. It is time to accept the facts and start looking for a replacement for Andy or at least a reliable partner for him up front.
The remaining rounds will present the offensive players in their roster with the chance to prove their quality. Slaven Bilic will need some convincing to keep them in the rotation next season, if West Ham acquires a star striker. Luckily for them, matches against Tottenham and Liverpool are the perfect opportunities to prove their worth. Given the team’s recent run, it’s not surprising that most bookmakers like the ones listed here are crediting West Ham with the second chance despite playing at home. On the bright side, this is a team famous for playing its best against top opponents and has caused major upsets earlier this season.
