West Ham United looking to liven up the team next season

The hammers last season didn’t quite go to plan for the team, as they were unable to push on from their very impressive campaign in 2015. The hammers finished 17 points worse off last season and without their previous front man Dmitri Payet.

The Board have no intention of sacking Slaven Bilic any time soon, but it will be clear to them that strengthening the squad is a must if they’re to climb up to the top half of the league table. However, it was back in 2015 when the hammers co-owners David Gold & David Sullivan said the West Ham United could win the Premier League and the Champions League within the next five or 6 years.

West Ham United Slaven Billic

Last season saw many new players to the london stadium, including the injury prone record signing Andrew Ayew. None of the others were able to make a significant impact on the pitch, with the likes of, Simone Zaza, Gokhan Tore, Havard Nordtveit & Sofiane Feghouli all struggling to make an impact.

A quick glance on various betting sites, however, and you’ll find lowers odds on the London club to finish bottom than to finish in the top 5 next season. Either way, if you’re into your betting, make sure you follow the Royal Vegas mobile method to ensure you make money throughout the season.

This season the emphasis is on quality rather than quantity, with Slaven Bilic looking to pick up three or four players that could actually improve his starting line up. One player they’ve already tied up is Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer – a player who’ll bring quality & experience to the squad, and from whom Sam Byram will be able to learn.

Slaven Bilic would also do well to sign a another goal keeper. Neither Adrian nor Darren Randolph showed the confidence to be the Hammer’s longer term number one this last season. Jordan Pickford was an early target, but his move to Everton football club means that a move for Joe Hart could be on the cards. Whilst the England keeper is often scrutinized, a lot of it comes down to him being called up for the national side – he would still be a step up from the options Slav already has.

The Hammers strikers Andrew Ayew & Andy Carroll have spent large parts of last season on the injury bench, and the East London club should look for more options up front. Michy Batshuay, Oilivier Giroud, and Kelechi Iheanacho are out of favour at their own clubs, and they’ve been linked with a summer move to the East London Stadium. One of those players would add great speed & quality to the team and could take West Ham to another level.

Finally, Dimitri Payet empty chair still needs to be filled, as a creative spark seriously lacked this last season for the Hammers. Gylfi Sigurdsson who excelled at struggling Swansea City last season – would be a fantastic addition to the club and would walk straight into the starting line up.
