According to reports, Manuel Pellegrini will be on the hunt for a central midfielder once the transfer window opens.
Looking around, there are two main options readily available. They can both get to work immediately as they already know the league.
Abdoulaye Doucoure
Nothing suggests that the Watford midfielder wants away but with the right fees for all parties involved, he could be playing for West Ham come January. The 25-year-old should cost £13.5m, according to Transfermarkt but in the current climate, we know he is most certainly going to move for thrice that sum at the minimum especially considering the fact that his contract runs until 2023.
The Hammers owners are also not known to spend big in January, especially one coming off the back of signing nine new players in the preceding summer. However, there is no denying the fact that Doucoure will be an astute addition to the Hammers midfield as he can play in a variety of positions.
Aaron Ramsey
Ramsey and Arsenal have supposedly hit an impasse and he is now going to leave on a free at the end of the summer. However, West Ham can swoop in during the January transfer window to bring him in. He is a more affordable option as Arsenal won’t want a protracted bidding process that could prize them out of some remuneration. A great chance to get a solid player worth having a assist bet on !
His injury problems look to be behind him and he will have a point to prove. Moving for Ramsey in January instead of waiting for the summer is important because by the end of the year, the list of possible suitors will most likely increase.
In the current Hammers line-up, no player is quite similar to Aaron Ramsey. His intelligence on and off the ball can give Hammers a completely new dimension
