As expected the hammers suffered a comprehensive 4-0 defeat to Manchester City
With many putting them in their betting odds calculator bets over the weekend. Manchester City already seem set to defend their premier league title and look to be one of the best sides the premier league has ever seen. West ham still at times looked a threat, which sets up for a very important run of fixtures up to Christmas.

West Ham United
West ham remain at the bottom end of the table and just four points off the relegation spots, which shows they need to pick up some points and fast. Next up is an away trip to Newcastle, in a very important fixture even at this very early stage of the season. Newcastle sit just three points behind West ham in the league, and a victory would see them leap frog them in the table. This would also pile more pressure on the club, so they need to go there and get a result. Newcastle have won the last two times the sides have met including a 3-0 victory at home, which further backs up the task for the hammers.
Following this West ham face struggling Cardiff, who at present look to be the favourites to face relegation. They continue to struggle with scoring goals, and this is a fixture the hammers will start as strong favourites. This will be the first fixture between the two sides since back in 2014, which resulted in a 2-0 win for West ham. Is it likely to be a similar story this time around?
West ham then welcome London rivals Crystal Palace, in another fixture against a side at the bottom half of the table. Palace, similar to West ham, kicked off the season with high hopes of success. Both have struggled at present, which sets up for a very important fixture for both clubs. The last two encounters between the sides has resulted in two draws of 2-2 and 1-1. This shows how closely matched they both have been in recent years. Three points would be a huge result for West ham.
The final fixture of this attractive run of fixtures for West ham is an away trip to Fulham. Following their return to the premier league, many expected Fulham to really kick on this season. However, they have really struggled to pick up points and alongside the previously mentioned Cardiff, remain as the favourites to face the drop. This is another fixture West ham will start as favourites to win. This will be the first time the sides have met since the start of 2014, which resulted in a 2-1 victory to Fulham.
