West Ham have won their last two games and although December is going to be a busy month, it is also a month full of opportunity for them.
They play a further five games in December, four of which are against teams who are below them in the league right now, while the other is against Watford, who are one place ahead of them. December will be busy, but this could be the month where West Ham break into the top half of the table and go on to stay in there as they progress into 2019.

The Hammers have two home games against Crystal Palace and Watford, along with three away trips to Fulham, Southampton and Burnley. Those games are all winnable, and while it is highly unlikely that West Ham will be able to win all five of them, a good points haul should be on its way. The Hammers played very well in their 3-1 victory over Cardiff, showing they are clearly better than those struggling at the bottom on their day. More of that is needed, and if they find it, West Ham are going to have a good month.
It is important that West Ham take advantage of this run of games since there are far tougher months to come for them. For example, in February, they face the top two in the league, Liverpool and Manchester City. It is likely they are going to be locked in a battle by the time those games come around, and they look to be the main title challengers this season according to the odds on offer. The latest Premier League 2019 winner odds show Manchester City as the 1.24 favourites, while Liverpool are available at 6.4.
Back to West Ham, and after what was a troublesome season on and off the field last season, things now appear to be settling down a little. They look to be in a good position in terms of making a push for the top half, and with a solid run in December, that could be something they achieve quickly.

One player that is going to be important over the coming games is Michail Antonio, who scored his first Premier League goal of the season in the win over Cardiff. When West Ham were playing some very good football a couple of years ago, he was right at the heart of it, but his form has not been as impressive recently. The goal should give him a much-needed boost in confidence, and if he carries that into the next few games, that is only going to help the Hammers pick up some more points in December.
The festive period is almost upon us, and if things go to plan for West Ham United, they could be giving their fans a fantastic Christmas present this season, with an assault on the top half of the Premier League.
