Positive pre-season for West Ham ahead of another Premier league season
It has been a fairly promising pre-season for the hammers, which has already led punters to support them for success using the latest betfred sign up offer. They initially kicked off their pre-season preparations with a 3-2 victory over Austrian side Altach. This was following a two-week training camp in Switzerland as Carlos Sanchez scored in what could be a very big season for him following injury.
West Ham then headed over to China to contest the Premier league Asia Trophy. They were beaten by Manchester City in the semi-final, which meant they played Newcastle for a third placed finish. Unfortunately they were beaten 1-0 but it was a poor display with West Ham failing to register a shot on target.
Next up for West Ham saw them take on the recently relegated Fulham inside Craven Cottage. This was a much more assured display as the hammers won the game 1-0. They then travelled to face off against German side Hertha in Austria inside the Sonnenseestadion. The hammers showcased their attacking threat throughout the game and ultimately won 5-3. There were many positives to take from this fixture, which bodes well for success in the season ahead.

To draw an end to pre-season preparations, West Ham faced off against Spanish side Athletico Bilbao. This was a very difficult task for West Ham but it turned out to be a very close game with it finishing 2-2 in 90 minutes. Bilbao then got the win through a 4-2 victory in a penalty shootout. Despite this there were a number of impressive displays worth noting. The first of these being Jack Wilshere, who was a dominant force in the final 20 minutes of the first half. Another has to be Manuel Lanzini who netted his third goal from as many games in pre-season. He was extremely influential throughout and will now be expected to take this forward into the Premier league season.
West Ham kick off their Premier league campaign as they welcome champions Manchester City in the London stadium. They could not have asked for a more difficult start but it will be important to provide a positive showing. Following this it could be a very important period with each of the next four fixtures more than winnable. This will see West Ham face Brighton, Watford, Norwich City and then Aston Villa. This period could define the season ahead for the hammers.
