Three Players Bilic could sign In January

Slaven Bilic is probably looking forward to the January Transfer Window opening more so than any other manager in the Premier League with three players bilic could sign in january.

The West Ham boss is desperate to boost his squad to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle this season following their poor start to the campaign.

The Hammers have shown some signs recently that they can turn their season around. They had an excellent 4-1 at the Liberty Stadium against Swansea on Boxing Day to extend their winning run to three games.

Bilic will be hoping to keep that run going when his side travels to Premier League champions Leicester and then in their home tie with Manchester United. West Ham are 98/25 to win that game with sportsbet.io, visit now for all the betting on West Ham’s upcoming fixtures in what is set to be a busy week over the New Year period.

West Ham were one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window back in the summer but very few of the acquisitions have made a positive impact on the starting XI – therefore Bilic will be forced to try and recruit again for next month’s transfer window.

Here are three players who have been linked with a move to the London Stadium.

Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas is no longer a regular in the Chelsea starting XI and if Bilic really wanted to signal West Ham’s ambitions going forward, the Spanish midfielder would be an excellent signing to do just that.

It may be difficult to attract a player of Fabregas’ calibre. However, the 29-year-old would not need to move away from London if he signed for the Hammers next month.

The problem Bilic may face is that there are likely to be a number of clubs across Europe monitoring Fabregas. If he was to become available in January, it could spark a transfer window bidding war.

Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge has one of the best goalscoring records per game in England. For some reason, though, Jurgen Klopp does not seem to be a huge fan of the England international.

For Sturridge to really flourish he may need to leave Anfield in the near future and join a club where he is going to play every week. That would certainly be a case at West Ham who are desperate for a goalscorer.

The obvious warning which comes with Sturridge is his fitness level. The 27-year-old would be an excellent signing for West Ham but they would need to accept that they are unlikely to get a full season out of the Englishman, given his recent injury record.

Jermain Defoe

At the age of 34, Jermain Defoe continues to do what he does best and that is score goals. The former West Ham trainee spent six years with the Hammers at the start of his professional career.

Jermain Defoe has proved a crucial player for Sunderland since signing for the club in January 2015 from Toronto. His goals helped the Black Cats stay in the Premier League last season and if they are to remain in the top flight at the end of this campaign, they may need the former England striker to deliver again.

If West Ham can persuade Sunderland to let go of their asset, he would be an excellent short-term option and would almost guarantee goals in the second half of this season.

Bilic Expected To Sign Players With English Football Experience

All of the above three players have Premier League experience – and that is expected to be the requirement for Bilic’s next recruitment’s. He gambled on players with no experience of English football last summer and that did not seem to work out very well for the Hammers’ boss. If he can bring in some real quality next month, it would be no surprise to see West Ham start moving up the table.
